From Our Editors
With the help of local motown, blues, and rock bands, the folks behind the 2016 Foodstock Music Festival aim to stamp out food insecurity once and for all. Bands such as Back In Motion and Overload Junction hit the stage to perform their signature blend of genres, getting folks dancing with Latin tunes, boot scootin' along to country songs, and waving their glowing cell phones during classic rock ballads. The festival also includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, free drinks, and a handful of attractions, such as a classic car contest and a horseshoes tournament.
This year, the music fest partners with Manheim's local food bank and The Power Packs Project, a nonprofit that puts together bundles complete with food, recipes, and nutritional information, all in an effort to help people learn to cook for themselves using inexpensive ingredients.
