I have no idea why this has good reviews, but my guess is the other options in the area. If you like to eat mediocre pizza in a moldy grandpa basement this is your place.
We absolutely love this pizza. We have been coming to Bono for years. The service is great, atmosphere is welcoming and clean, pizza is unique, and they have super fresh ingredients and awesome flavor combinations. We usually go next door to the bar they share the space with to order beer; they have a great selection of beer, but we are not so impressed with the wine selection. I also love the salad and dessert. Bono's Pizza is a real find.
The spinach salad was colorful and delicious, the bruschetta was better than fine restaurants I've been to and the Palermo pizza I choose was cooked perfectly and full of flavors. The staff was very friendly too.
Service bad, didn't get what I ordered
Be careful. The groupon is only for an individual pizza and salad. Too much for one person but not enough for two. And somehow I still ended up owing money. The groupon is not clear at all.
The first time we went the service wasn't good but the second time it was great!
The food was overall good and great options.
I'm not going to lie, when I saw this pizza place embedded in an apartment complex I assumed it would just be a greasy pizza college quality joint. However going inside and giving it a try I quickly realized this was the complete opposite from the truth. The salad I had was fresh and very well made especially given the price and the pizza selection there was very extensive with many unique specialty types. The bonopizza I got was delicious, fresh, and not greasy at all. I will definitely go here again even without a Groupon.
Friendly staff and the salads and pizza are very good. Was a little difficult to find but glad we did.
Consistently yummy pizza and friendly folks.

You might get an especially warm welcome the first time you visit BonoPizza. Its uniquely topped, wood-fired personal pizzas are so beloved by regulars that the crew can usually spot first-timers in the crowd—and know how to help them choose. Whether it's your first or thousandth bite of a Bono pie, it's easy to get adventurous with a long list of specialty pizza such as the Berliner with kielbasa and sauerkraut or the Waikiki "Jamie-style" with pineapple, cinnamon, roasted almonds, and coconut. Part of that creativity comes from classically trained chef Jacob Wilch, while the perfectly crisp crusts are the product of a blisteringly hot brick oven. You can also build your own without needing to procure your own pizza-construction permits from the city.
