First impressions are everything. Having any restaurant gives you over 90% chance to fail. Number 1 rule in business is location, location, and location. It needs to be a little more professional, one person should not be running the restaurant by herself, the timing is always an issue of how fast people can come in and get out, make sure everything in the building is OSHA approved, no flies flying around or have some kind of prevention of bugs, and try plate presentation.

Service was poor and unfriendly. Most of the party was done eating by the time one person's food arrived. Portions were small. Food quality was unremarkable. We did not receive dessert as specified on Groupon. Additional food was overpriced. Hours of operation very limited.

Food was overcooked and mushy. They were out of half the food selections, including dessert.

As mentioned I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food rated would be a 3 the service a zero and they didn't want to offer honor the groupon they made you feel like they were giving you food for free. Worst experience!

Talked my family into going. Though groupon doesn't mention it can only choose from baked chicken, pulled pork, and meatloaf. no sweet tea so it's either kool aid (sugar tap water) or tap water. They didn't know groupon came with dessert so offered additional side. Then came up with some cheesecake to give away. Food was average at best and didn't seem like soul food to me at all. No collared greens and not well prepared for any customers. Two of the ladies weren't friendly. Lynn tried to help but overall experience was not good. Ordered the fried chicken separately and the rest of the family was done eating before it came out.

From Our Editors

Boujhetto's owner Marlene Carson didn't always think she was going to own a soul-food joint; in fact, the eatery grew out of her work starting Rahab's Hideaway, a local shelter and resource center for victims of human trafficking. Carson, as she described to NBC, is herself a survivor of trafficking, and founded Rahab's Hideaway to help women put their lives back on track. Boujhetto's gives a leg up to Rahab's clients by offering training and employment cooking and serving soul food. The eatery has been lauded on Oprah.com and profiled on NBC for helping empower women to build solid new lives for themselves.

Boujhetto's menu contains plenty of Southern-style food, from breakfasts of grits, sausage, and chicken and waffles to entrees of crispy-fried pork chops. In the sandy-yellow dining room, visitors chow down on items such as burgers, fish sandwiches, chicken and waffles, Kool-Aid Pickles, and Grippo's wings. The restaurant also hosts special community enrichment events during after hours.
