Presentation of the food was not appealing and the pricing of the selection didn't seem like a "deal" with the Groupon. Very disappointed in the selection overall, I was expecting more. Definitely not returning.

Helping the two brothers was more important than explaining this groupon coupon. One of the employees explained afterwards that both guys were her brothers. We were there eating and trying to understand why we were charged for our food and drinks when we had this coupon for 4 pastries and drinks. It was not explained that it was only one per visit and could not be used more than on a single visit; ie: punched more than once per visit. Additionally, the least expensive drink and pastry were of course chosen for the ticket and I was charged for the three most expensive pastry items. Probably to make up for the free food and bottle waters given to the brothers. The two employees had something going on in the back and only came out when the bells rang at the door. We were never asked or questioned nor provided any service after getting our order and seated at a table. Would only return to complete this groupon to recover money not well spent...

I particularly love the cookies! Not exactly the pastries... Also the coffee doesn't come with as many options as other cafés I've been to. No raw/unprocessed sugar or fresh milks. (They're packaged) so not my favorite place to get coffee.

Label items with main ingredients. I ordered "chocolate chip walnut" cookies and bit into chocolate chip, walnut, and coconut cookies. And lots of coconut at that. More than the chocolate chips and walnut. Something I wouldn't have wasted my money on if I would have known.

From Our Editors

For more than three decades, The French Loaf has served up fresh baked goods made with locally sourced ingredients. The crew of foodies works with local farms to harvest the fresh veggies that go into their house-made soups and quiches. Closer to home, they whip up fresh batches of cracked wheat bread and croissants to use as part of their simple, savory bistro sandwiches. And like any self-respecting French patisserie, pastry chefs craft mouthwatering pies, creme brûlée, and petit fours. To maintain their local ties, the bakery donates all its left-over baked goods to local shelters and community organizations at the end of the day.
