At the accredited Arkansas College of Barbering and Hair Design, the next generation of cosmetologists undergo rigorous training. They learn from a faculty made up of licensed professionals from the salon industry, a team that pairs pedagogical rigor with years of hands-on experience with shears and nail clippers. The school's extensive curriculum covers all facets of salon life, from the history of haircuts to the science behind scalp disorders to job-search and shop-management skills.
The school emphasizes professional experience. At its working salon, student stylists hone their craft through services including cuts, color treatments, braids, and weaves. Prospective nail technicians also provide manicures and pedicures under supervision. In addition to training new barbers and stylists, The Arkansas College of Barbering and Hair Design also helps current cosmetologists become accredited teachers and managers themselves.
