About All Island Martial Arts
What services does your business offer and what makes your business standout from the competition?
All Island Martial Arts was established in 2010, with the goal to teach our community realistic self-defense. Our students practice Martial Arts in a safe non-competitive and clean facility. Even though we teach in a group setting, we pride ourselves in the fact we teach our students on an individual basis. All Island Martial Arts, is a great place for students to establish lifetime relationships and improved overall health and well-being. At All Island Martial Arts, we teach a mixed martial arts curriculum. Our two main styles are Taekwondo and Aikido; however there are other styles that are infused in our curriculum. We also train our students in weapons, pressure points, and joint manipulation. Our classes also include Yoga, Pilates and Cross Training to recruit core and functional training. Our Dojo is a Charter school through, Eastern U.S.A International Martial Arts Association (E.U.S.A.I.M.A.A). Our Chief Instructor: Michael Hutchings has over 26 years’ experience in the Martial Arts. He also works at East End Disability Associates, Inc., with people that have with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Our goal was to start a Martial Arts school that will positively affect the community. We teach Stranger Danger and Women's Self-Defense Course free to the public to empower people with the knowledge to protect themselves. We also teach children's life skills that will be with them for the rest of their lives. We consider everyone on in our school/dojo to be family and our student’s success is important to us. Even in a group setting, we offer personalized attention to our students so that nobody falls behind.
