From Our Editors
After completing her first job in a veterinarian's office, 16-year-old Nicole Cecil couldn’t wait to begin working with animals again. She soon picked up a gig at a local grooming salon, bathing dogs with such aplomb that the salon’s owner had no choice but to offer her on-the-job training.
Nicole’s early promise has since evolved into a full-blown skillset. These days she continues to groom and bathe pups of all breeds as the owner of Sophisticuts Dog Salon. With help from her dedicated team, Nicole trims shaggy hair, exfoliates snouts with blueberry facials, and tends to nails with relaxing pawdicures. When bathing pooches, she uses a variety of specialty shampoos that cater to allergy-prone skin or protect against fleas. While waiting for their owners to pick them up, dogs can play with their fellow canine customers in an enclosed, supervised area.
