Their fitness studio doesn't have rows of elliptical machines or scores of workout machines, and it doesn't have crowds of exercisers spending their time doing the same monotonous workouts. Instead, they have a team of committed members and a supportive atmosphere that helps encourage members to achieve their individual fitness goals. Working in small groups, CrossFitters follow ever-changing Workouts of the Day that incorporate strength training, cardio, and basic gymnastic exercises for a short time at a very high intensity to develop a broad fitness base. Moreover, every exercise is scalable, meaning the movements, weights, duration of time, and intensity can be adjusted to accommodate everyone from first-time participants to elderly clients to imaginary friends.
