I was happy to be able to create my own art project. Morise and his partner are great. They assist you as much or as little as you like. I was a little disappointed that no filler was used before the firing of my project because all the blank spaces show between the mosaic. This is still worth the trip.

We got fit in the day before we left. We all had a good time. I'm glad I read the reviews before hand. Knew what to expect. Would go again next visit! Thanks

Fun experience. Great instruction. Be sure to let the owner know BEFORE you begin that you have the 'groupon' & understand the 'full' cost of what the Groupon covers versus what is offered. Also, remember that while the owner is an expert, it's your creation.

We really enjoyed our visit to Mor. What a fun thing to do with a couple of friends while spending time at the coast! Talk about a one-of-a-kind souvenir! The studio was in a great location, and very well run...I'd recommend this in a heartbeat, and I plan to return again! Tami G.

Lots of fun! This type of art is better and more creative than glass blowing but you don't get the immediate gratification because your glass piece needs to cure. Owners are good coaches for anyone who doesn't feel creative

VERY basic class experience. VERY little opportunity to be creative. We were told to select a template. We got to choose color of glass, but owners did ALL the cutting and most of the arranging of the glass pieces- "you do it like this, and like this and like this....No, like this." Really, all we got to do was to glue the pieces down that they cut and arranged for us. Very rushed. Very pushy. Be prepared to spend another $20 to add a colored glass background that really does make it look better and much less fragile. You need to be able to go back 1-2 days later to pick up your (their) art piece after firing. We were determined to have fun in spite of how we were treated but ended up with nice pieces, but we don't feel like they are "our" art at all.

From Our Editors

Local artist and glass master Dan Watts opened the doors of MorArt more than 4 years ago with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that attracted the likes of actress Tippi Hedren of Hitchcock's The Birds fame. After the confetti settled and the balloon outlines of Hitchcock's silhouette popped, Lincoln City was left with a haven for hands-on glass making.

Dan teaches the art of glass fusing during one-on-one sessions or group classes. Equipping students with the tools, materials, and knowledge necessary, he lets them roam free to breathe life into their own refractive creations. Though he remains on-hand for advice, instruction, and assistance, the onus lies on each individual to create a masterpiece worthy of mantel display. Once students finish, Dan fires up his kiln's bedchamber so that each piece can stay and solidify overnight. Masterworks can be shipped for an additional fee, delivered express via the studio's catapult, or picked up from the store along with a few pieces of Dan's original work.
