Although breathtaking dance sequences sometimes feel like the domain of Broadway musicals or bygone ballrooms, they're alive and well at Park Cities Dance. The studio hosts a full range of traditional dance classes, with instructors teaching feet the moves from jazz, musical theatre, and ballroom traditions. However, the devotion to dance isn't simply an artistic one. Park Cities Dance also schedules Ballet Burn fitness classes, helping exercisers get in shape like the dancers they admire. Invented by former international touring dancer Margot Martin, the workouts blend elements of yoga, Pilates, plyometrics, and other cardio techniques with movements pulled straight from the ballet playbook. The result is an exercise system that burns fats and adds stamina, agility, and muscle tone without the bulk associated with weights and strength training.
