Beach Segway allows visitors to take in the sights and sounds of Deerfield Beach without walking, driving, or fighting for elbowroom in a crowded bus. After guests learn how to safely operate their Segway PT i2S, tour guides lead them along at a toupee-rustling 12.5 miles per hour, charting a course past local landmarks, hot spots, and sights such as Capone Island or the Deerfield Beach pier. In-helmet cameras and tour photographers snap pictures along the way, giving clients visual mementos of their speedy sojourn. The facility offers five tours daily, starting with a sunrise tour at 6 a.m. and ending around 6 p.m., when the sun puts its feet up and relaxes on the horizon. Each two-hour tours also includes special extras such as gift certificates for breakfast and drink specials, encouraging guests to continue their sightseeing excursion at a somewhat slower pace.
