Extreme Sandbox invites patrons to re-explore the art of playing in dirt—only instead of a small sandbox, there's 10 acres to play in; and instead of using a shovel, you can get behind the wheel of a heavy-duty construction vehicle. Participants 14 and older learn the ropes from highly trained instructors before climbing into climate-controlled construction equipment: two bulldozers, two excavators, and one skid steer stand ready. Although most guests are first-timers, Extreme Sandbox’s obstacle course can be customized to challenge more experienced captains as well.
As seen on the TV show Shark Tank, the oversize sandbox features indoor and outdoor observation areas from which family and friends can watch as loved ones create unforgettable impressions on topsoil and memories. The Texas location of Extreme Sandbox, the first off-shoot of the tourist attraction in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, joins other family-fun activities at the Tanglewood Resort and Conference Center.
