From Our Editors
When it comes to Italian cuisine, Americatus New-World Italian Restaurant's chef and owner Iain Chisholm focuses on every possible detail. He and his team make all of their pastas, cheeses, and sausages in-house and by hand, ensuring that whatever customers order comes with the most robust flavor possible. And that same DIY ethos can be found in the restaurant's decor: the staff built the furniture from scratch, using reclaimed plywood and steel.
As for the specific dishes on the menu, Chisholm frequently changes his offerings to emphasize seasonality. But whether the calendar reads June or Second June, he and his fellow chefs always craft new-world Italian cuisine from ingredients that are as fresh as they are alluring, delightful, and pleasing—or, in Latin, delicatus. Lunchtime diners can expect deli-style service, while later meals bring full entrees served with imported beer and private label wine.
