The food was pretty average. The best part has to be the cooking class

Really enjoyed the food, vendors, dancers. I must say compared to past years, it was very unorganized this year. And I will not buy the groupon again for this event. We got the total run around when we went to redeem our coupons for the food and the drink coupon does not include the Greek beer. Which is only $1 more, so we offered to pay the extra but we were told it was not allowed. The food is also limited. It's much better to just pay the entrance and buy the food and drink that you want.

The festival was great, although very crowded. Lines were very long but everyone tolerated them because the food was delicious & worth the wait. Great people watching. It was a little difficult to see the stage and the dancers. Great music!! Purchasing the Groupon was a really good deal...admission, sandwiches, a drink and dessert!! We came home with a gorgeous painting!!

The food is great, as always. This year we discovered the gyro salad and tried the baklava. Heavenly!. We always enjoy the tips we learn in the cooking demonstration.

There was a good selection of food, but it was quite expensive. My biggest complaint is that no one seemed to know how to handle my Groupon. The admission folks let us in, but my Groupon also included food and beverage. Finally one of the folks at a food booth just said she'd write down the value of what I ordered on the Groupon and I just kept doing that until I was done and was under the value. The best parts were shopping at the booths and visiting the church, which was beautiful.

The food and organization is very good. They need more seating and tables for food and more garbage cans around the tables or people to bus tables and wash them. Also they need more chairs to use when watching the dancers.

From Our Editors

For over half a century, The Denver Greek Festival has celebrated Colorado's Hellenic heritage with food, dance, and song. Amid pans of flaming saganaki cheese, nimble folk dancers, and bazaars full of imported art and jewelry, visitors enjoy a full sensory experience of Greek culture. Here's just a taste of what to expect at this year's celebration:

  • The Food: Chefs dish out a tempting spread of Greek specialties, from flaky, honey-covered baklava, to savory dips, or chicken wings seasoned with lemon, oregano, and tzatziki.

  • The Music: Live music acts entertain and enrich crowds with the sounds of traditional Greek songs. Enjoy performances from the Assumption Cathedral Choir, Etho Ellas, and Marmatakis/Papadais

  • The Culture: In addition to the food and music, The Denver Greek Festival preserves the area's Greek traditions with informative tours of the beautiful Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
