From Our Editors
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Learning piano doesn't have to be hard! Traditional piano lessons focus on reading first; so many confusing symbols! But we focus on rhythm and sound from the beginning. You'll hear the song and feel the rhythm before you even look at a note, so it always feels like music, not an engineering class!
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
We provide the books for the first time students. You need not bring anything to the class. You'll have a keyboard to play in class. A keyboard at home for practice is recommended but not required.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I'm the president of the Denver Area Music Teachers Association. At the National Convention last April, I was excited to learn about Recreational Music Making (RMM). Traditional lessons treat everyone like they're headed for Carnagie Hall. But RMM is for people who just want to enjoy learning music.
What do you love most about your job?
I love music and I love people, so teaching music is a natural fit for me. I am a composer/pianist with 7 CDs of original piano music (you can find me on iTunes & Spotify.) But I find sharing my love of music with others deeply satisfying. I love going to work everyday!
