It took 45 minutes to get our first drink and near an hour for my coffee. Another half hour for our egg sandwich and egg dish. The food is excellent, the service not so much. I will not be back.

Still a nice experience but not 5stars like last time. Could tell the new staff id preparing food bc the consistency and quality was clearly different! However still beautiful relaxed atmosphere with great little cheese shop inside

The service was impeccable and the waitress was so kind and friendly. We really enjoyed the food - baked brie and a Mortadella sandwich. I had been there before and ordered the Ban Mi which was wonderful! The wine is always fresh and well chosen. I am impressed with this place and hope that others discover it as well. Reminds me of being in Europe. Very tasteful.

We had 4 wines and 8 cheeses in the Milky Way class. Paula was very informative and generous with the wine. After class we shared the Grinder sandwich and a bottle of Pinot Gris, both highly recommended. We then visited the cheeses counter and brought home 5 cheeses for our own at home tasting! Very enjoyable experience, we will do more classes!

From Our Editors

Paula, the founder of Mell's Cheese, owes her love of food to her grandfather, Mell Coley, a man who lovingly tended his small garden and grape vines and made his own grape jelly and maple syrup. Though she went to work in the corporate world, food was always on her mind, so she attended classes at the Cheese School of San Francisco and Murray’s Cheese in New York City during her free time. She also obtained her executive wine sommelier certification from the International Wine Guild.

In 2014, Paula left her job and opened up her own cheese, wine, and charcuterie mecca dedicated to the man who first taught her how to appreciate food. She now introduces fellow foodies to her shop's more than 100 hard, soft, washed rind, blue, and fresh cheeses, helping them select the perfect complementary glass of wine or Colorado beer. And she passes on her knowledge during wine-and-cheese pairing classes.
