A nonprofit performing-arts organization, Stories on Stage matches talented thespians with killer short stories to illuminate a burning issue or explore a timeless theme. Blindsided deals with profound questions of destiny, as the troupe has collected four tales that poke at fate with a fiction stick to see what it’s made of and why it’s so sticky. A Tony nominee for her role in Angels in America, Kathy Chalfant delivers the tale “He Was a Good Lion” from the classic memoir of pioneering aviatrix Beryl Markham. Randy Moore interprets short-form giant Anton Chekhov’s "The Lady With the Little Dog," and Brad Bellamy’s "Dracula in Missouri" gets a dramatic treatment by 9NEWS entertainment reporter Kirk Montgomery. Broadway veteran Candy Brown vocally strokes “What Language Is That?” from Uwem Akpan’s Oprah-blessed collection Say You’re One of Them.
