i am very disappointed with the way it turned out after i went to the right dental dentist and the way things turned out. I just watched the video on your website about "the groupon promise" when you have a bad experience so i thought i should let you know (and hopefully get a refund). The groupon cost $35 for a dental exam, cleaning and X-rays, which i thought was an incredible value when i purchased it. The main reason i purchased it was because i don't have dental insurance and i needed a dental cleaning which are generally very expensive. Anyway, at the dentist everything went fine at first- they were friendly and examined my teeth and took X-rays (which was all fine) and then had me watch some promotional videos trying to get me to buy extra dental work from them. The problem was that when they came back they explained to me that since i had periodontal disease they weren't going to be able to do the free cleaning that came with the groupon. They said i would first have to schedule another appointment with them to first do a more intense cleaning- however that was going to cost a couple hundred dollars (i don't have to paper with me that had the exact cost, but i believe that was about the price they told me), and then after i did that cleaning they would be able to do the free cleaning with the groupon (as a follow up cleaning a couple months later). At first i was disappointed but thought that it wasn't their fault, however when i got home i did some research to find out what "periodontal disease" really is... and what i found on several website was that that majority of people in the United States have some form of periodontal disease... periodontal disease is can be very minor or can develope to be more serious, but it is inflammation of the gums caused by plaque build up- in my case it was very minor. The dentist told me that because of this periodontal disease, i wouldn't be able to get the cleaning included in the groupon until i came back for a another appointment and got a more intense cleaning first (and of course spent a couple hundred extra dollars). I was very disappointed about this because the whole reason i bought this and went to the dentist was to clean my teeth and get rid of any extra plaque on my teeth- and then the dentist tells me that i can't do that because i have plaque build up on my teeth- i think that is very poor business and also deceptive. If the majority of people have some sort of periodontal disease then its not right that they won't clean your teeth because you have it.
