Since the event was cancelled, I gave it only 1 star.

Thought for the admission fee you would get something. Didn't know you had to purchase chocolate inside.

They were not prepared for the show. I heard they weren't allowed in the doors until late. However, they did not have enough staff to put on a good show.

It was pretty lame - very few exhibitors - like three - and three people trying to sell you things. I expected a lot more.

It was a huge disappointment! There were no chocolate vendors and a huge building with only about 3 vendors selling pots & pans, and knives, etc. Nothing to do with chocolate. They were only charging $5 at the door to get in so your Groupon offer did not save any money. They offered to get us a refund from Groupon, but haven't heard from you about that yet. Would appreciate a refund as this event was nowhere what was advertised. Thank you.

From Our Editors

For one weekend in May, the Iowa State Fairgrounds transform into the confectionary capital of the country. During the two-day Iowa Chocolate Festival, chocolatiers and home bakers from across the state compete for honors in eight chocolate categories, including Best Truffle, Best Fudge, and Best Chocolate Cake. What that means for crowds? Samples and morsels of some of the area's finest desserts. When they're not tasting these wares or devising plans for water-beds full of ganache, visitors can also watch the crowning of Little Miss and Mr. Chocolates and learn the cocoa arts during chocolate demonstrations.
