Very crowded, food not good. No place to sit except in food court. Over rated. Did not feel authentic. Would not go again.

Should not be combined with a major event at same venue Parking unavailable for disabled Pays spread way out from each other, with no clear directions where to find things Tons of unused space Demonstrative all on one room made it nearly impossible to hear any of them Very poorly planned and executed!

The Groupon is not an actual ticket so you'll need to get in the "purchase tickets" line, not the "already have tickets" one. Parking traffic is extremely heavy so go early to get a spot. Also, when we went on Sunday, they were having another event in the connected building as well which made it even more hectic. Be prepared for people to push and shove, especially if you're i a wheelchair so try to go to demonstrations etc early.

Wear comfortable shoes and allow plenty of time to see many of the cultural demonstrations.

From Our Editors

Samurai sword fights, flavorful bento boxes, and bone-shaking taiko drumming. Once a year since 1981, JapanFest has brought food, art, culture, and airline peanuts from the Land of the Rising Sun to the American South. Organized by JapanFest, Inc. and supported by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia (JCCG) and the Japan-America Society of Georgia (JASG), the celebration features attractions that range from the high-adrenaline—swordplay and archery demos—to the serene, such as workshops on Japanese etiquette and the mystique of sake. Between martial arts and sushi-making lessons, visitors can head to the food court for old-fashioned udon, yakitori, takoyaki, and curry rice.
