Certain hairstyles look good on certain facial shapes. When a client asks for a haircut you know will be a mismatch for them, how do you handle it?
Even if we do not mention it in the consultation, we are always looking at facial shapes and how best to tie in the hairstyle. Usually it is a little tweak here and there to make a hairstyle work, and we will have a two way conversation on how we are going to proceed for best results.
Part of being a good stylist is mastering the art of conversation. What are some pro tips for talking to strangers?
Sometimes it is [better] to listen than talk; however most hairstylist are people persons and like to talk a lot. We want to make sure we talk about your hair or lashes and make sure we are letting you know how to style it at home.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We have a unique 16-chair salon on the second floor of our building that we treat as a loft space. We also have local artists display their work which changes periodically. We keep our prices at a comfortable mid-price point and high-quality, well-trained stylists. We have a 50-50 ratio of men and women clients.
