The first Alfredo's Mexican Cafe in Weatherford was small, fitting maybe 45 diners if they all inhaled at the same time and squeezed in tight. But when they noticed more and more customers waiting in the parking lot to get inside, Alfredo's owners decided to expand, and there are now four cafes across Oklahoma.
People still flock to the eateries for deluxe fajita nachos, guiso verde pork simmered in green sauce, tacos, quesadillas, and combo platters. They're all washed down by margaritas and housemade agave limeade—the restaurant's signature beverage.
Alfredo's food may reach people all over Oklahoma, but its philanthropic efforts reach even further, crossing the globe to support an orphanage in Manos de Amor, Mexico, and a water ministry in Burkina Faso, South Africa.
