Rather than your standard gym's treadmills and ellipticals, Capital City Athletics is awash in ropes, dumbbells, steps, and barbells—the perfect set-up for a CrossFit workout. It's run by Clayton McAdam, a lifelong athlete and gym-goer. When Clayton discovered CrossFit, he was immediately hooked on its challenging workouts, which provided a welcome break from his regular fitness routines. At Capital City, Clayton and his team spearhead WODs, or Workouts of the Day, where participants perform an ever-changing series of functional movements such as squats, box jumps, and burpees. The result: a full-body workout each visit, coupled with increased endurance, muscle tone, and metabolism.
