Inside the massive, well-outfitted Sportsplex, Fit Club Fairfield's team of personal trainers and fighting coaches teaches martial arts as both a method of self-defense and vigorous exercise. They train aspiring fighters in boxing, jujitsu, and muay thai, arming them with a suite of takedowns, punches, and kicks used in professional bouts. In sessions geared toward fitness, the team pits students against punching bags and focus pads as they battle off calories in pursuit of slimmer physiques, making participants more confident to don swimsuits or show their pillows who’s the boss.
