they changed their rules mid stream. One time I was allowed to use one session for a spray tan, but had to pay for the cartridge. That was totally fine and agreeable. The next time I made an appointment, I requested two treatments and one treatment for the spray tan with the understanding that I would pay extra for the cartridge. Once I got there, they told me no...I was not allowed to do that. I don't understand the change midstream. Since I already had the appointment,, they should have honored it. Will not be going back.

I was extremely disappointed–I did not realize the spa was completely machine operated. Also, I thought the facial would involve a clay mask and applied by a specialist, instead, I had to lay under a red light. There was no indication that I would have to purchase the face soap and lotion and that I would only be provided a sample and would have to bring it back on my next visit. The advertisement was misleading at best. I would not recommend this spa to anyone.

I was very taken back by the whole feel of the place. It seems more gimmick than actual spa and I was very disappointed in the cleanliness/upkeep of the rooms.

I think the packages are a bit to expensive for someone of minimal income. The theropies you offer will only bring optimal results if done as theropy over time and not sparaticly. I would love to have been able to afford these theropies but unfortunatley cannot. I REALLY ENJOYED MY VISIT and the staff. Thanks Again.

From Our Editors

A wildly successful alternative to traditional day spas—its more than 300 locations blanket 36 states and half a dozen countries—Planet Beach Contempo Spa is a futuristic relaxation station where state-of-the-art machines administer all the spa and tanning services. These friendly automatons sometimes replace familiar treatments, as in the Luminous facial, a light-based service that delivers blemish-busting results similar to those of a conventional facial. But other equipment maps out new spa territory entirely: the Hydro-Derma Fusion chamber moisturizes the whole body with nutrient-rich steam in order to offset the effects of a dry climate or a rear-end collision with a salt truck. Other machines whiten teeth, spray tan skin, and massage muscles.

Planet Beach operates on a gym-style membership system, meaning members purchase packages or pay flat monthly rates. As members spend more time at the spa, they get to know the helpful assistants who are always on hand to demonstrate how to use the equipment without activating its ability to cry.
