We have been customers of Picture People in Hurst, Texas for over 5 years - the manager, Brittney, is am excellent photographer, her staff is good, HOWEVER, the value that you get for your money compared to Portrait Innovations is POOR, even with a groupon. Your photo CD might had 10 to 12 photos and the cost is $99.00, the package consists of 8 sheets of photos, 2 8x10, 4 5x7, 10 4x6 and 16 wallets - a useless size and item. With my Groupon this cost is $16.00 plus the CD of my images - so $16 in advance and over $100 the day of the sitting, that is if I do not buy additional photos. Now jump over to Portrait Innovations, they have coupons online so I don't have to deal with Groupon, I can call and get in easier than by calling your location and making an appointment only to have it cancelled a day later - that happened twice. WHen I get to Portrait Innovations, I normally do not have to wait longer than 20 minutes but there are seats to wait in, they have TWO large photography areas, numerous backgrounds, numerous props, two photographers that work in tandum so that even with a fussy baby or toddler you get great photos. There is a dressing room, they encourage you to bring a second change of clothing and you are not rushed through the process which can happen at Picture People - Brittney always took her time but other photographers not so much, they are booked on top of each other. When it is time to see your photos there are a minimum of 25 poses, three photos of each pose so you can choose what is good and what is not. For the special offer this month has been 33 photos for $24.99 PLUS a free mug PLUS 20% additional off of your total purchase. I received the original portrait package consisting of 2 10x13, 2 8x10, 4 5x7, 4 3x5, 16 wallets, 5 5x7 greeting cards, PLUS for 75.99 I received 8 additional photo sheets, 2 of 4 different poses in my choice of size plus the hi res CD and copyright release - my total when I walked out of the store was $119.99. Now where do you think I got the best deal? So often the lightening at your studios is enough off that a fair haired child is "burned out", a pastel dress doesn't even show up in the photo and there is only so much any photographer, regardless how great they are, can do in a closet size space. I loved Brittney but she has moved on to greener fields and to be perfectly honest the new manager might be good but he does not have the touch that we were use to having. We are done with the monthly "watch the baby grow" photos, so now when we need photos we will be going to Portrait Innovations and spending our photo money much more wisely. Maybe it is time to look at your competition's offers and pricing and try to equal then - it will be rough when you have one room and it is small - but give the people something for their money and you might not disappear like other studios who have tried to run a cheap service. Customers want a value for their money and at this time you are not offering it.
