Dinning experience like no other: We were at your Frankfort location last evening 11/06/13 at 6pm. I didn't even have a chance to pull my glasses off and with no menu, no drink menu nothing the waitress is at the table asking if we knew what we wanted to drink. We asked for the drink menu, wine list and decided upon a glass of wine ($9 really?) and the Special pint offered to us by the waitress for $4.00.
We had the printed out Groupon clearly in sight on the table and even pointed out to the waitress before any orders were placed, she stated she wold only need it upon preparing the bill. AFTER the 1/4 glass of wine and the Special Harps pint was delivered, she came back about 3 minutes later, and with the wine and beer partially consumed, decides to explain that any item that is considered a "Special" is not eligible to be used with the Groupon! I asked for an explanation and that's what I got.
We are not first time Groupon users, we are not first time customers to your location and the other locations, but the IS the first time this has ever been experienced.
So at this point I'm not all that trilled with Nevins, we order anyhow due to the fact I've already spent money on the Groupon. My wife orders the 13.99 pork chop, I order the 14.99 Buffalo burger with specific instruction that I wanted it coked Medium-WELL. The food is delivered we begin to eat and after 3 bites my burger goes from Medium to rare, I decided to eat from the other end in hopes that is a small portion that is rare, but the other portions are worse and almost raw!
At this point had the waitress even come back to the table to ask how our meal was I would have told her, but a young man was walking b the table, I assume a manager or at least someone that cared, he stops at our table when he sees me throw the burger back on my plate in disgust. I held it up to him, turned it around for him to see all sides and asked if he thought this was cooked, let a lone cooked to Medium-WELL? He took the plate offered to remove the charge and asked if he could replace it, I stated I only wanted a basic everyday cheeseburger. The cheeseburger came out absolutely perfect and good tasting.
Now I ask for the bill which at this point was still under the $40 on the Groupon, my wife orders a desert (piece of cake) to take home. The bill comes and guess what, sure the 14.99 was removed for the raw burger, but I get charged for the cheeseburger at 9.99 AND the 4.00 Beer that was on "Special". My bill was $47.08 !!!!!
So be honest, switch places with me, experience this and tell me how you would feel about my restaurant? Look, I'm not looking for a free anything, but your waitress needs to be coached on explaining to customers BEFORE an issue comes up. If a customer has these types of issues on the same visit.....maybe that 9.99 cheeseburger should be covered for the inconvenience of my wife finishing her meal or she could have waited for the replacement cheeseburger but then her food is cold, and the failure of the waitress to explain the Groupon vs "special items" BEFORE an order is placed, let alone after we started the wine and beer.
