What a fun time! Learned all about how the bean pods are grown to how the chocolate is made. Got to dip items to taste and bring home. Very friendly staff and clean shop.

My daughter and I had so much fun at Schakolad. The chocolate fountain was very yummy! We also got to make our own candy bars and chocolate dipped treats.

Staff is attentive and knowledgeable. We got to taste different kinds of chocolate and to make some with our own hands. And take it home! I made a pretty good mess but had a lot of fun. And the quality of the product is top notch.

From Our Editors

A play off the founder's last name mixed with the word chocolate, Schakolad has made fresh chocolates for three generations of Schaked's. It all started in 1969, when co-founder Baruch Schaked worked as a chocolatier in an Argentinian chocolate factory and discovered his passion for chocolate. After traveling throughout Europe for courses where he mastered the art of chocolate making, Schaked put his talent to the test at the famous Fontainebleau Chocolate Festival, where his handmade truffles won him multiple first place awards.

To keep his father's passion for chocolate alive, Schaked's son Edgar opened the first Schakolad Chocolate Factory in 1995. Four years later, he decided to franchise the factory. Though the business continues to grow, Edgar remains true to the factory's family-based roots. He does this by ensuring each location makes fresh chocolates on site.
