Hill Country Film Festival
The Hill Country Film Festival, making surround-sound splashes in press outlets such as Texas Public Radio, celebrates independent films from local and international imaginations. Feature-length dramas, comedies, and documentaries share the bill with both playful and somber shorts. Future movie stars have shed their burgeoning light at the event in past years: Ryan Lee appeared in a short during the 2010 festival before landing his role in the box-office hit Super 8.
The Stagecoach Theater in Fredericksburg hosts each festival. The venue immerses the audience in high-quality digital projection, 7:1 surround sound, and screens varnished with John Wayne's spittle.
