Local, local, local. That's the battle cry at Jaxon Social Restaurant & Bar, which, at its core, is a celebration of the Jacksonville community. While at a local market, you might come across Executive Chef Matt Kemper as he collects ingredients for his globally inspired menu. He spins those ingredients into popular street-food appetizers such as elotes, grilled corn on the cob topped with queso fresco, cotija cheese, and Mexican spices. But he also handcrafts innovative entrees, such as lamb lollipops crusted with pistachio, panko, and parmesan.
Behind the bar, head mixologist Carissa Quigg shakes up cocktails infused with spices, teas, fruits, vegetables, and herbs picked from the restaurant's own garden. The resulting selection of martinis, cocktails, and sangrias often sparks another key element to Jaxon Social Restaurant & Bar success: social interaction. Between sips, visitors can play board games on the patio, sample each other's meals, or participate in the restaurant's many events, ranging from Sunday brunch to live music.
