I would recommend that everyone try it. I was disappointed with how few options there were and how small the samples were. But there was a both giving nibbles. I bought a pretty good frozen drink outside. But it was not what I was hopping a Margarita Festival would be. The samples should be bigger and more variety.

The area outside was too small. There were a nice mix of vendors set up for shopping. The inside where the tasting area was, was just ridiculous! No real direction of where to get in line. You are waiting in this long line that is trailing through the room & you have people just walking up to get samples. We unfortunately found the set up to be very poorly done. We stayed about 1.5hrs & left. It was a waste of time & money.

One big room with the perimeter full of venders, did not have much character. The lines were a mess! The lines went around the room in a circle and no one could tell who was in line for what or where any of the lines started. It was VERY hot out, which nothing really can be done about that, but it made the outdoor area very low energy.

Get a drink at the outdoor festival before you enter the Margarita tasting part to quench your thirst while waiting in lines! Uber was supposed to have free rides to the event but no cars were in the area so plan on a DD!

This was the smallest "festival" I've ever been to. I'm thankful that the groupon was so cheap but I wouldn't do it again. The price of the drinks and how tiny it all was, wasn't worth it.

From Our Editors

According to its founders, the Texas Tequila and Margarita Festival was "intentionally created to feel like a passport to a street fair." Luckily for participants, there's no need to visit a government agency to get permission to enter—a simple ticket will do. Once there, guests can sip flavored margaritas, savor non-Mexican funnel cakes or traditional Mexican dishes from restaurants, and peruse gifts from vendors, all while swaying to live blues, zydeco, and rock music. With additional tickets, they can head to the Tour de Tequila to sample brands including Blue Nectar Tequila and Tequila Toro de Lidia, pairing them with bites of local cuisine that complement the libations' flavors. There's also a Margarita Grand Tasting, where visitors can judge their favorite margarita with votes from restaurants such as The Spot and Tortuga.
