It is no longer Toscana, it is called Vinoteca. It's a little disconcerting not to be told that when making a reservation as you look for the restaurant.

Paul, the owners son, was wonderful. He took the time to discuss the specials, and answered our questions. Timing between courses was perfect. We were not rushed at all. And most important the food was wonderful.

Other people who arrived after us were served first, we ordered a expresso with sambucca, didn't get the sambucca when we mentioned it it took 5 min to get it. We ordered dessert waited the table next to us ordered their dessert after us but got it first. Then we heard the bartender tell the waiter that the groupon will be ending this weekend. We were definitely treated different than the people not using groupon. The food was also very bland, not much flavor. Would not go back.

The reason I would not go back was that the host who was also the waiter (for ALL the tables) was a bit aloof and extremely non-existant. The rest of the staff was quite efficient but was not allowed to wait on tables. Since the host was also everyone's waiter he was extremely busy and it took forever for our check to get to us.

service not good, were supposed to get a bottle of wine with dinner and they totally disregarded our request. bought a 110 package for 4, when they brought the two appetizers for us to share they didn't bring extra dishes. The owner was very nice but they just weren't interested in the diners other than one table with about 12 people. The restaurant was not busy though.

The service was extremely slow, the food was cold, and the owner was rude & obnoxious. A very poor dining experience.

From Our Editors

When designing Toscana Greenwich, owner Paul W. Ardaji was meticulous in recreating the spirit of renaissance Florence. The walls are decked with vibrant paintings depicting the landmark era’s culture, and food is cooked in a wood-burning oven. Voted the Best Italian Restaurant of Greenwich 2012 by The Best of Fairfield County Living, the menu brims with Tuscan specialties and house originals alike, such as the house pizza topped with crème fraîche, smoked salmon, Italian caviar, and jalapeño. High-backed booths or elegantly appointed tables set the stage for dining on these delectables, and a vibrant ring of glowing red wine bottles-turned-light fixtures hang above the front of the restaurant to contrast the classic yellow light emanating from the dining area’s sconces and rustic saucer-like fixtures.
