Go early in the season and don't wait for another storm. You may end up almost running out of time.

Dress warm. It's such a great family activity. My kids and us parents all made chains and went down the hills together! Such a blast!

Unless they get more snow, this year is probably not a good idea. However, their operation was very smooth, though it was by reservation only and limited to 2 hrs.

Our family had a great time tubbing at Soldier Hollow! The only problem we encountered was waiting a long time to get on the rope tow. Employees mentioned they were short on staff and couldn't open both tows. We weren't able to tube down the runs as much as we would have liked because of the wait time, but we still had fun as a family!

From Our Editors

Whether mounds of freshly fallen snow or fields of verdant grass blanket its ranges on the banks of Wasatch Mountain State Park, Soldier Hollow hosts outdoor excursions that help visitors stay active year-round. When winter coats the slopes with fresh powder, parents and kids alike can rent necessary equipment before hurtling down 1,200-feet of tubing lanes on the mountain's terrain and racing to the lift for more plunges. Once named Utah's best Olympic legacy venue by Best of Utah in 2004, its skiing courses provide day or night thrills to anyone from the slope slippers of its easy groomed trails, to the expert skiers cutting through the drifts of their Olympic courses. After a long day of activity that also includes lesson packages, scenic tours, and biathlon experiences, visitors can warm up to the soaring fireplace of the lodge.
