I did NOT have a good time or experience. The first bad thing that happened was that I was not greeted warmly or with a smile by the owner, she didn't even introduce herself. She just stared at me with a very serious face when I told her I forgot the print out of the Groupon. I asked her if she had a computer so I could print it up, and she suggested that I could pull it up with my cell phone. I was borrowing my husband's smart phone and I do not know how to work it. All of this was a moot point because when I made the appointment, I gave her my groupon number (near the barcode) and she wrote it down. She did not remember any of this, nor did she remember me or our conversation at all, even though I was kind enough to spend about 20 min. on the phone with her and hear her go on and on about her business, and what the minerals do, and her personal health issues until I finally had to force my way off of the phone.
I was worried about printing the groupon, so I called my son and asked him to find it so my husband could bring it by, she must have heard me from the next room because she then burst out of a door in frantic way and told me that she did not want me to stress out over it and kept calling me ma'am. She then took my arm with both of her hands and tried to pull me into the bathroom to change because I guess I wasn't moving fast enough with the routine she wanted me to do. While she was literally trying to pull me up off of the chair, she kept saying "I don't want you to stress out, please come this way ma'am". I told her that I was not stressed out, but that she was starting to stress me out because she was pulling on my arm. She then sprang away from me with an alarmed face and bugging eyes and profusely over-apologized for touching me. She said, "I'm so sorry I touched you", a few times. She then asked me if I understood that she would have to touch me during the wrap and if I was okay with that, as if I didn't get that concept already and as if she was not starting to stress me out by almost pulling my arm out of my shoulder socket.
At this point, I had to go over what it was I discussed on the phone with her, as she did not write it down or remember anything about me at all. I told her we discussed the dream wrap with the $20.00 upgrade, but she kept correcting me by calling it the official name of the spa treatments (which I did not remember). The upgrade involved wrapping my body with bandages for a slimming effect, and that is what I wanted to do. She told me that as enticing as another $20.00 was, I seemed very stressed to her and that her intuition was telling her that I should just stick with the dream wrap as it is relaxing.
I was regretting ever stepping my foot into the place at this point, and I just wanted to get the appointment over with. When I was ready, I ended up lying on a massage table with a big plastic cocoon surrounding some sheets. I got onto the table; she draped some bed sheets on me, put warm water with solution on me, and closed the plastic wrap with some clothespins or something like it. The sheets were ice cold and shocking, to my skin when I got onto the table, and the solution was coldish. The rest of the treatment was three more pourings of warm water with some mineral solution in it. When I was done, I went to the bathroom, changed, and left. She charged me $9.99 in tax over and above the $85.00 I spent for the groupon. This is a total of $95.00 spent on a total rip off!
I cannot believe that she charges $170.00 for a regular price. Please, anybody can do what she does. There is no skill or training involved with having somebody lay down on a massage table and pouring water over the person. My husband could do the same thing at home for the price of a mineral solution on our massage table. I felt like it was not only the biggest waste of money that I have experienced in a while, but I was mad at myself for wasting my Saturday on this place. I will NEVER go back again. That owner is just too weird. She told me she loved the treatment so much that after she had a wrap, she bought the business the next day and opened three locations. My guess is that she is a rich housewife who knows nothing of business and professional behavior with customers.
