Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
If the multitude of authentic before and after pictures of clients on our website and gym walls, and the fresh beats coming out the surround sound stereo aren't enough to keep someone's blood pumping, our team of certified personal trainers keep clients motivated by creating a positive, supportive, results-oriented, high-energy, non-intimidating, non-judgemental environment with workouts that constantly evolve to keep things interesting, and personalized enough to keep training safe.
What is the biggest mistake you see people make when trying to get fit on their own?
The biggest mistake that people make when trying to get fit on their own is not planning, or using the wrong plan for their goal. This usually comes down to having a specific goal and then taking the shortest route to their destination. One trend that seems to be popular these days is people pulling a random "workout of the day" out of a magazine or website and expecting it to produce the same results as whatever picture is put up next to it. Our Metabolic Boot Camp sessions will make sure clients are exercising at the right intensity to get results and stay injury free. There is really no need to spend more than an hour in the gym to randomly produce results that can be precisely achieved by efficiently and effectively working out in 60 minutes.
When and how did you first develop a passion for fitness?
I first developed a passion for fitness about 10 years ago when I transformed my own body and lost over 80 lbs. The physical changes were great, but besides all that, I felt 1000x better. When I discovered that I could produce the same results for others, I knew I had found my calling. Since then, I've helped multiple people lose over 100 lbs, and one person lose more than 200 lbs, and countless people reach their goal of getting leaner and more toned. We've trained multiple members of Olympic Team USA, high-school and college-level athletes, and some of Hawaii's professionals including UFC star Chris Leben.
