Our daughter had a great time riding again. Peter was a great instruction and mentor during the course of the lesson, attentive to detail and very communicative. The setting is stunning and the kid had a blast so what else can one ask for? Thanks for a great experience!

It was not worth the Groupon price They don't allow galloping, you just trot around a small dirt field They only discuss, how to get on a horse, how to sit on a horse, and how to hold and turn a horse For one hour, it's very boring You don't need to discuss how to sit on a horse for 20 minutes I do not recommend at all Maybe if anything this is more suitable and worth it for kids under age 5 Other than that, look elsewhere Sometimes Groupon deals are not worth buying They tell you how much you're saving, but when you to there, I felt like I overpaid Two thumbs down This was part of a birthday gift Very, very, disappointed with it

we used groupons and living socials. The lady had us on horses for 20 minutes not 90. She is an old delightful lady but she does not give you anywhere near what has been promised to you.

Wear sunblock and be prepared to wear a riding hemlet (like a bicycle hemlet). The whole experience was great! Enjoy your time :)

Booking they trail ride was a bit difficult, as it is a small volunteer run business. But Emogene was very amenable and it was a great experience for our family!

The ride started late, over half an hour late and it didn't last more than 20 minutes because I was thrown from the horse, when he got spooked by some construction near the stables. The trail rider leader didn't know but the owner did and didn't tell

Had to call several times to book an appointment. Got there early, they were running an hour behind. Come back in an hour. Came back in an hour. Oh, we started without you because we didn't know where you were.

From Our Editors

Cool, onshore breezes swirl through the banyan trees and botanical gardens that frame Koko Crater Stables, a spacious facility nestled in the crater of a dormant volcano. Head trainer Piet Mathews, who has more than 30 years of experience tucked under his saddle, leads the center's staff, which draws on more than 20 years of equestrian know-how to conduct trail rides, lessons, and camps. In addition to helping riders to earn their spurs, Koko Crater Stables provides boarding services that include bedding, watering, and daily stall cleanings, ensuring four-legged lodgers remain comfortable and aren't tempted to tunnel out and begin new lives as bankers.
