My experience with BaroSolutions was that the initial one-hour consultation was half an hour taking data and measurements and the other half talking about their upgrade options. While the selling of supplements is acceptable, the service of nutrition consultation, check-ins and the diet/exercise plan was underwhelming.
If I pay $699 for one month of weight loss support. I expect a lot more than sitting in a tiny office of a share-office suite, where there seems to be only one person working half-time (the other half in Sugar Land) for the whole City of Houston. Also if I am booked for a whole hour of consultation I don't want to talk upgrades, spending more money. I want to spend time being concerned about my weight management struggles.
Furthermore, although advertised otherwise, I was informed that the check-ups were a lot quicker than one hour. Again, not really comforting when one expect serious professional support.
The meal/exercise plan seemed to be based on three types in general and the individual's calorie consumption. Something I can calculate myself. In turns out, everything is mainly based on calorie counting, e.g. Calorie consumption in resting state + exercise - low calorie intake. Nothing special.
The only difference to the above, which is easily achieved on my own and available for free on the internet, are the supplements. Here is where the real business seems to come in. I'm sure the supplements help, but with outrageous prices, such as $170, etc. it just starts to feel like a complete rip-off.
Moreover, the actual diet drug, Phentermine, only available with another upgrade, I would have had to buy over the counter.
Again, with pricing like $699, $1199, $1399, etc. I expect a serious commitment from the company with doctor's visits, physical check-ups, serious investigations into all areas of possible causes for weight problems, etc. and NOT a half-hearted visit in a tiny, shared office, walking out with supplements and that's it.
If not a complete scam, I think this company is seriously taking advantage of a massive problem of weight loss by providing very little for a lot of buck. I will not only NOT recommend this company but seriously warn anyone I can to stay away or at least be very clear on what they are getting into. I am also considering reporting them at the BBB.
