Delicious food & pastries, but the elderly waitress is constantly grumpy & hurrying my friends & I out of there. Many times she has been on the rude side. This makes me not want to go there!!

AWESOME pizza and the little canoli for a sweet bite afterwards was PERFECT! I will definitely go back, food was very good, staff was friendly and it feels like a 'neighborhood hangout' - highly recommend!!!

The business did not give what the Groupon said. They said Groupon did not represent what they had asked for. So instead of receiving two lunches with two mini canolis as stated on the Groupon...I received anything up to a $12.00 value. Not good business on their part.

I think it's mostly a pastry stop when you may be out running errands. There was NOTHING special, at all, about the turkey sandwich, except the delicious bread it was made on. The Philly Cheese Steak sandwich was such a disappointment! The roll it was served on was so tough, I could hardly chew it. The meat was nothing special and after inspecting it thoroughly, I finally found tiny bits of onion, and no bell peppers! Who makes a Philly Cheese Steak without bell pepper? You'd think by the outrageous price Drew's charges, they could at the very least, put a pickle spear, or a handful of chips on the plate. The dessert case looked amazing, but the mini cannoli was only okay.

My husband and I used my $12.00 Lunch Groupon. The sandwiches and cannolis were good. Their baked good looked delicious, I thought they were pricey. If I was in that area, I would eat there again. I would not go out of my way though. The lunch cost us another $12.00' drinks and chips and a little extra for the cost of their sandwiches.

From Our Editors

When discussing the origins of his bakery with reporters from the Houston Press, owner Andrew "Drew" Rogers explained, "When I turned 40, my wife turned to me and said, 'If money were no object, what would you really want to do?'" Andrew told her he wanted to be a pastry chef, recalling the familiar smells of baking from growing up in an Italian household. After working in various bakeries and kitchens throughout Houston, he finally opened up his own New York–style bakery, Drew's Pastry Place.

Colorful displays of cookies, cakes, and housemade cannolis lauded by MyFoxHouston greet customers entering the bakery, where Andrew and his kitchen crew whip up baked goods and fresh bread from scratch. In the seating area, customers curl up in a cushy armchair by the bookshelf and bite into crunchy pizza. Soft lanterns hang from the bakery's ceiling, illuminating Italian-inspired artwork—from oil paintings of the countryside to marble statues of a puddle of olive oil.
