They charge an 18% gratuity on every bill, no matter how many are in the party.

Was not overly impressed with the food. My water was never full. 18% gratuity added to my bill of two. Total bill was about $60. No plans on going back.

Ordered a sizzler - they weren't able to serve it. Had to make do with alternatives. Begs the question, why have "Sizzler" in your name? Asked for the dish I finally ordered to be made extra spicy, came out bland. Shady locality and ambiance.

I do not plan on visiting your restaurant ever again. Our food was burnt to a crisp, the "salads" were limp (my carrots bent - they didn't snap), and the four pieces of lamb in the lamb champ were so small and over-cooked that there is more to eat in a bag of chips than what was on my plate. We left feeling more hungry than when we arrived. Did we say anything at the time? No. Why? Because there's no polite way of saying any of the above. Especially when you're the only patrons in the place. Plus, I already paid Groupon, and certainly was not going to try something else on the menu as a substitute for my.Alas, this was my first Groupon purchase. On the plus side, it can only get better.

Food was decent not great. Ambiance is college appropriate and did not like that they had a mandatory 18% tip added on top, just for groupon. When we had a party of 4. This was not disclosed in the groupon.

They charge an 18% gratuity for a party of two. It was a complete ripoff. The food was good, but only if you're willing to spend over fourty dollars should you even think about going here. The waitress who got ten dollars because of that absurd gratuity tax didn't even refill our drinks, she did not deserve that at all. They're using groupon to bring people in, and then charging ridiculous prices so that they get their money back. If you want Indian food, I suggest going to Bombay Brasseire. It's great food and you might still come out cheaper than you will at thus place. Will not be back.

Move to another location. Change your name to Pakistani Sizzler. Eat at literally ANY other Indian restaurant in the city to taste good good. Create a menu from any of a great number of Indian cookbooks (I cook... and could not imagine creating dishes for the public as bad as what I paid for here.) Hire a chef, or train one in culinary arts. Create a menu of something other than a typed list with prices scratched out and higher prices written in... and without the supplementary list of additional (but normally expected) items found in most Indian restaurants. NEVER add a "tip" to a bill. I believe in tipping the wait person, which in this case would have been the ONLY person to receive anything. But I do not want the restaurant, especially in this case, to assume that I will pay 18%, and even add it to the bill. This is unconscionable in this country... and simply shows the culture I am describing here. I would have paid MORE than the 18% gratuity, as I normally do. However, I was so disenchanted with the entire experience as to leave it alone, pay, and leave. The overall experience was terrible... and we will NEVER return. And now my only true regret is that I failed to take photos to complement this review. Bon appétit! :-)

From Our Editors

Indian Sizzler prepares a delectable menu of traditional Indian dishes, many of which are healthy. Garlic naan or paratha rolls sop up the sauces of popular dishes such as chicken curry—boneless chicken breasts marinated in garlic, yogurt, and ginger and swimming in curry sauce. Patrons hungry for a larger meal can combine their curry or kabob with a side of halwa, a dessert with milk, coconut, pistachio, and almonds. Sips from spicy soda give heat-loving tongues a kick and gulps of mango lassi or salt lassi—a salty blend of housemade yogurt and herbs—cool tongues more pleasantly than a bag of frozen peas.
