Good food; decent entertainment However, we got lobster tacos from famous food truck and they kept running out of food but the food we got was not cooked and it was very disappointing and it was the most expensive thing out there.

It was OK. SUPER CROWDED, more than expected, and of course SUPER hot. It was like elbow to elbow. Some lines were ridiculous when multiple food trucks were serving the save things. I also did not like that some vendors were CASH ONLY, so that was a little annoying. Music was good though, but can't say that I'd go back. #crossedoffoflist

Good atmosphere. Trouble with the music because of the heat. Extremely few vegetarian options but I was ok with that given the price of admission I paid

Not much of a taste when your paying full price for each food item. More like taste one vendors food. This is not how a taste event is supposed to be run.

I expected it to be like my hometown's food fest where you purchase a ticket which covered entrance into the event as well as tasting different food samples setup by different vendors. However, this events tickets were for entrance only, no "taste" of anything unless you purchased a full entree of whatever the vendors were selling.

Has to pay again inside to buy expensive foods in a fenced area. Not free taste testing of foods. Area crowded, noisy with heavy band, long lines, pricey event parking...Much better off eating in a restaurant with A/C.

The food fest was great. The only downfall was the heat. I would not have minded paying more for the ticket in exchange for free samples from the vendors instead of paying for large meals.

The admission line was long and then there was no gate for exiting. Thank goodness I only paid $5.00 for my ticket. There were no food samples. This was a food truck fest! And we could never see any restrooms.

From Our Editors

If you want to eat like a local in Houston, the 2017 Houston Food Fest is the place to do it. The event welcomes a smorgasbord of more than 60 eateries to dish up their best bites for the crowds. But the only way to get on the list of vendors—be locally owned. Cafés, food trucks, and fine dining establishments will all have a spot at the first-time festival, which also has games and live music for in between bites.
