From Our Editors
When they're backpacking, canoeing, and mountain biking through central Indiana, the kids of Camptown aren't just exploring the wilderness—they're also exploring their own potential. That's because Camptown counselors focus on developing leadership and teamwork as much as they do on survival skills. Their programs teach 8- to 18-year olds the fundamentals of camping and character-building on a variety of trips, from floating down the White River to visiting a 1930s mining camp. They also plan less intense programs meant for beginners, such as day hikes, day-camp activities, and fishing via mime.
