When Dennis opened his own restaurant, he knew that naming it after his grandfather Dale was the perfect way to pay homage to him. Dale Beikman, a Navy veteran from World War II, was often found working in the garden by family members. Those very vegetables he watered and grew ended up starring in his own recipes, from stuffed green pepper soup to turkey Manhattan sandwiches. Some of those recipes are recreated inside the kitchen at Dale's Family Restaurant, along with home-style favorites such as beef stroganoff and meat loaf smothered in gravy. The chefs prepare each dish from scratch, including blending their own house reuben sauce and breading the country fried steak by hand.
