Walking into Gene's Seafood Restaurant is like stepping inside a giant aquarium—minus the water. Mounted swordfish, hognose fish, and other Florida-coast dwellers adorn the walls, along with the nautical gear used to catch them, while actual aquariums invite a closeup view of underwater life without having to become a mermaid. Even with an abundance of sea life at hand, the restaurant’s best fish are the ones that end up on plates. The team serves a variety of local delicacies and imported seafood including scallops, oysters, and fried shrimp.
