The great thing about mud is that it doesn't discriminate. That fact is certainly true during Run the Jailbreak events, where participants of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels end up sporting the same muddy casing by day's end. During these events, though, mud isn't so much given as it is earned. Between arriving clean and leaving filthy, everyone pushes their way across Run the Jailbreak's muddy course: a 3.1-mile gantlet riddled with more than 20 obstacles. Runners high-step through tires, army-crawl beneath wires, scale walls, and slither through mucky tunnels en route to the finish line. There, they're greeted with a medal and a beer, just like actual prisoners who manage to escape prison.
