Dragon boats may have the face and tail of a dragon, but they move at a speed that only a team of likeminded paddlers can bring. With each timed stroke of the paddle, these unique craft glide through the water at a remarkable pace, making them excellent boats for racing. In fact, dragon boat racing was practiced for 2000 years in villages throughout Southern China before hopping across the Pacific Ocean. The Puff Dragon Boat Team continues that tradition with regular races around Miami and in locations as far flung as the Dragon Boat Championships in Hungary and Canada. The team practices four times a week, perfecting their craft for racing through the water. On the rare occasions when they aren't practicing, they hold classes to teach beginners how to ride their own dragons in the water.
