At Extreme Field Day, it's totally okay to play in the mud. In fact, it's encouraged. The kid-friendly obstacle course race is designed to get kids moving outdoors, instilling a love of exercise and outside play that sets the foundation for a long and healthy life. It's not a competition—everyone gets a medal for finishing, but the real reward is the sense of pride and accomplishment kids get for maneuvering past and through age-appropriate obstacles like a spider web, noodle wash, and, of course, a mud pit. The race itself is open to kids ages 4 to 14, but parents have plenty of opportunities to get in on the fun by cheering their racers on or snapping photos, making it a perfect activity for the entire family.
