The instructor kept cancelling the classes then decided he was too busy and cancelled all for the rest of the year. VERY DISSAPOINTING.

I had so much fun the first time that I went back again. For someone with no painting experience, I am amazed that I can paint a painting in 3 hrs. The instructions are so easy to follow and I will be back for my 3rd painting soon. Cheers!

Business if closed. They don't respond to e-mails, phone calls. Ebrahim Amin is a con artist. I scheduled an appointment for his class and no one was there. Ruined my anniversary present for my fiance.

I was scheduled for a class with a friend and Asgar, an employee of Painting and Fun called me a day before to cancel my reservation because the class was too full. He told me that he would give me 2 extra sessions if we agreed to reschedule. I have email confirming this agreement. I finally was able to find the time with my friends to attend a class and have been emailing Asgar and calling the Painting and Fun office but have not received confirmation of our reservation for the Oct. 22nd painting class in Balboa Island. I feel cheated and I really feel that I should be treated better than this because after all they were the ones that cancelled my reservation because they overbooked the class.

Great class. Relax and enjoy the process. Don't try to make a perfect painting. Have fun and go with the flow.

This painting class was just ok. The instructor was very nice but he spent too much time walking around helping others. We also started late to wait for people who hadn't shown up on time which personally is their problem and those who arrived on time shouldn't have to wait for them. Because of these 2 things, the painting felt rushed and didn't look the the original at all. There wasn't time add finishing touches. Also, during our class, someone came and inquired about a personal party or more information which is great but really? Right in the middle of our class...the instructor should have given them a business card and sent them on their way instead of spend 5 minutes talking to them.

From Our Editors

If there's a sunset in wine country or an early spring tree blooming in the reflection of a pond, Ebrahim Amin may be poised nearby with paintbrush in hand, capturing the scene on his canvas. The veteran artist's expansive resume boasts a wealth of nature-filled artwork that depicts the rolling hills of Northern California, the jagged rocks of the Grand Canyon, and the beginnings of fall slowly washing over a vineyard. He is also equally masterful in his interpretations of still life and Impressionist-esque portraiture, all skills he instills in his students at Painting and Fun. Here, the award-winning artist and frequent art-show exhibitor teaches students how to translate what they see onto canvas, whether it's the light glinting off the ocean or an apple posing without its clothing.
