Was told The food would be ready in 15 mins. but I waited an hour for my food. They did give me a soda while i waited though. Chicken was too salty and i love salty food so that says something. I really wanted to like this place but i was disappointed.

The food was good and the employees were nice, but the restaurant had a lot of flies in it the day we came, which was a little concerning. Also the wait was a little long.

We had a groupon for a meal for 4 (slab of BBQ ribs, 8 pcs of smoked bbq chicken, 4 sides), and that was supposed to also come with Flavor Flav's hardcover book. What we got was tough, fatty, gray colored ribs that were baked, not BBQ'd, in an electric oven, with no BBQ sauce, chicken that was not smoked or BBQ, but fried, the pieces were very small and dried out, and we also only got four pieces, not the 8 pieces we should have gotten. The sides were from pre-made restaurant industry sized containers just scooped into very small to go cups. "Baked" beans were nothing more than Pork & Beans out of a can. Fries were crinkle cut frozen fries like you can buy in the store, but not even as good as the Ore-Ida brand. NONE of the food was BBQ'd! They did give us some packets of hot sauce instead, as if that makes it BBQ. Other than the electric oven, I did not see any other method of BBQing anything, no BBQ pit or smoker that I could see, unless the electric oven was an electric smoker. Did not get the Flavor Flav book either. They completely misrepresented the Groupon which advertised a picture of ribs just slathered in BBQ sauce, and the food was terrible. I would not eat here again for free! I did post a complaint to Groupon that they were not honoring the Groupon as advertised, serving lesser quantities than advertised and not even providing the same food as they should have (not BBQ'd).

Why do you allow your employee/cashier to work in pajamas. You need to keep your kitchen stocked, you seem to have been out of ribs and other items on the menu that I couldn't hear the manager tell the customer. I will not be back....

They did not have ribs available when I went, said it would be a couple hours. The restaurant has an "A" rating from the health district, I wouldn't trust that rating. The place was filthy and I ended up not attempting to eat the food. There were flies everywhere inside the restaurant.

From Our Editors

The year is 1989, and due to his wild success as a professional rapper and Public Enemy member, cooking chicken is likely the last thing on Flavor Flav's mind. Or is it? His father, William Drayton Sr., owned a Long Island eatery called the Soul Diner, and for Flavor Flav—who, according to the Clinton Herald, earned a culinary degree in 1978—cooking soul food runs in the family. Fast-forward to present day, and you'll find that Flavor Flav, who is also a reality TV star, hasn't fallen far from the family tree. When he's not busy laying down rhymes for Public Enemy or helping Elton John convert 111 million football fans into Pepsi drinkers, he tends to his celebrity-centric take-out restaurant naturally called Flavor Flav's House of Flavor, which has its customers lining up around the block for tastes of Flavor's personal recipes for sauce-slathered chicken and slow-cooked ribs.

The staff divvies out the menu's bounty—fried chicken and shrimp, mac 'n' cheese, and signature red velvet waffles sprinkled with powdered sugar, edible pieces of art that diners can't wait to ruin by eating. Though space is limited inside the take-out-only restaurant, Flavor himself shows up from time to time to dole out chicken, shake hands with adoring fans, and hobnob with celebrities and friends such as J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and Dr. Farrah Gray.
