The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars, and live entertainment, the consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes roulette, blackjack, and poker games. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques in most Las Vegas Strip hotels. Head to LINQ Promenade for a shopping and dining experience, then ride atop the High Roller observation wheel. Thanks to the strip’s re-creation of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas and the Roman Empire at Caesars Palace, you can virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks.

Christmas in Vegas I had a wonderful experience at this location. The views are absolutely beautiful and create such a pleasant atmosphere. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service. During my visit, another person became extremely rude and was yelling at the employee Giovanni, yet he remained calm, respectful, and professional the entire time. He handled the situation with grace while continuing to provide excellent service to everyone else including myself. The combination of great service, a great location, and stunning views really makes this place special. I highly recommend it.

3 star experience, really expected more/better from Planet Hollywood My stay here borders between 3 and 4 stars. Unlike my other stays in Vegas where I've usually been asked if I'd prefer a high or low floor, close to or far from the elevators, or even offered an upgrade for a strip view, the guy working the check-in desk just took my ID and credit card and gave me a room key. I was given a room on the backside of the hotel on the 6th floor, which is the same floor as the pool. Unlike most other guest floors one doesn't need a key card to access the floor I was placed on (so a bit less secure) and my view looked out over a roof, plumbing and HVAC equipment. The room was quite large, with 2 double beds and so much space between them that you could've almost inserted another bed there. Decor was a bit odd and disjointed; The bathroom had a very deep soak tub in the same area as the sink, with the toilet and shower in separate spaces off to the side and the bathroom looked more classy and traditional. In the actual room, some of the art was more simple, while the doors to the free-standing wardrobe were covered in modern art, akin to the decor at the SLS when it was located where the Sahara now sits. There was a reading/dining table with 2 chairs, but no lights anywhere nearby so one could see and in fact the room overall was quite dark with just a desk light and a table lamp between the beds. There was a fridge and a safe, but no coffee maker (which seems typical in Vegas) and the 2 Starbucks locations downstairs often had very long lines and prices were high ($21 for a simple coffee Americano and a breakfast sandwich). Overall everything in the room was in good condition, but there were some misses - doorstops missing from the walls, rust and damage to door hardware, etc. The bed was comfortable but the mattress and duvet weren't nearly as plush as those at the MGM grand. Towels weren't very soft and there was no "do not disturb" sign, causing housekeeping to knock a few times. When I asked for a sign to hang on the door, they said they had none. Overall the room was fairly plain, which was surprising for Planet Hollywood. The amenities I had several months ago at Treasure Island were much nicer, with a better view of the actual Strip to boot. In addition to the price of the room, I was charged $62+ per night here for a resort fee which is excessive. When I first arrived, I heard people complaining about the elevators and indeed, 1/2 of them in the bank closest to my room weren't working during my stay and the wait times were excessively long at times. Planet Hollywood (originally the Aladdin - and though the transition to PH happened about 20 years ago, there are still throwbacks to the old Arabian decor and theme here and there) offers plenty of bars and restaurants, and the Miracle Mile shops offered lots of stores and even more F&B options. This hotel/casino is centrally located on the Vegas strip, with a monorail station located relatively nearby at the Paris/Horseshoe station. For a place to sleep while in town for a convention, Planet Hollywood and the room I was given were adequate. Had I come here for romantic getaway, the room I was given would've been a non-starter.
