The smell of hops and fried hot wings fills the air at the Texas Beer Refinery taproom, the customer-facing home of this hyper-local brewery that was started after a prospective conversation between John Hearn and Ryan Rhodes at another Dickinson, Texas bar in 2013.
Diners munch on exotic treats from the team behind the Predator & Prey food truck, including the Hot Cheerito—a burrito made with spicy Cheetos—and quesadillas stuffed with camel and kangaroo meat.
Those in search of beer will find some of Texas Beer Refinery's staple offerings:
Tex's Blonde (5.3% ABV): a blonde ale that starts fresh and smooth with the taste of malt and finishes with an overall mellow scent of lemony citrus
Redneck Red (5.6% ABV): this Irish red ale tastes of melty caramel and toasted chocolate, with a darkened, cool brown hue as it's poured
Golf Coast Gose (5.0% ABV): a sour malt beer brewed with coriander and full of crisp citrus flavor—it includes a taste of fruits that change with the season, with a hint of cranberries and sour apples in the fall
